Walk A Mile In Their Shoes

“Your child has cancer.” It is difficult for many to comprehend ever having to hear those words. But now, we all can relate a little more closely to a “day in the life” of this plight. The anxiety, the total loss of control, the fear that every germ might pose a serious medical threat. Add on the burden of financial instability and lost wages. THESE ARE THEIR SHOES since the day that diagnosis came.
Cancer didn’t stop for coronavirus and neither will we…
We have had five cancelled fundraising events this spring and summer and are hopeful this “Mile In Their Shoes” Family Walk will allow us to keep the critical help for which we are relied upon coming for WNY families facing pediatric cancer. Let your kids know a simple walk is making a difference for a child right in their own community fighting cancer and turn a family outing to get exercise into the most meaningful mile you have ever walked!

Participating families who walk the “Mile in Their Shoes” will be e-mailed a coupon for a FREE Slush at Sonic!

We Know THAT taking care of your own family in these trying times is difficult, but would you be willing to WALK A MILE for WNY FAMILIES FACING PEDIATRIC CANCER?

P.U.N.T.’s “Helping Hands” program meets the most critical needs of WNY families whose children are fighting through providing assistance with direct payment of essential household expenses: rents, mortgages, auto loans, gas and groceries. Our hospital social work partners submit requests to us weekly on behalf of the highest need families and with community support, we are there to help.

With the partnership with the Buffalo Bills Foundation, we have created P.U.N.T.’s “Mile in Their Shoes”  Virtual Family Walk.
We are so proud that Buffalo Bills Tight End Lee Smith, his wife Alisha, and their four kids are our HONORARY CAPTAINS for the “Mile in Their Shoes” Family walk!

As we all struggle to handle the challenges of COVID-19, P.U.N.T. is committed to continuing to provide critical financial assistance to WNY families facing pediatric cancer. These families were already in crisis mode and struggling to make ends meet from the devastation of this diagnosis. Please consider helping us stand behind them with a pledge of support in any amount to our "Helping Hands" program. Cancer doesn't stop for coronavirus, and we know they will need us now more than ever. You can help us be ready for the many requests that will be coming from hospital social workers on behalf of the highest need families. Thank you.
