Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, two area businesses team up to give back to the WNY community and Northwood Asset Management Group, two Buffalo-Based businesses, donated over 500 N95 masks to the P.U.N.T. Foundation to help children diagnosed with cancer. The duo plans to disburse over 5000 masks to healthcare workers on the front lines and as well as other organizations that are in need.

“The P.U.N.T. Foundation is a wonderful charitable organization that has a strong history of helping area children,” said Andrew Fanelli of Northwood Asset Management Group. “We want to make sure that children and families who are battling pediatric cancer have access to PPE during these times of uncertainty.”

The P.U.N.T. Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) that provides families in Western New York facing pediatric cancer with critical programs that offer financial, practical and emotional support from diagnosis to recovery and bereavement. P.U.N.T operates with collaboration and guidance from community hospital partners to ensure that every dollar raised gets channeled where it is most needed.

“Being able to provide a family who is in the fight for their child’s life with safety and some peace of mind is an incredible, invaluable gift,” said Executive Director of PUNT Gwen Mysiak. We are so grateful to Buffalo businesses for turning our mission into action with this very generous donation.”

As we all struggle to handle the challenges of COVID-19, P.U.N.T. is committed to continuing to provide critical financial assistance to WNY families facing pediatric cancer. These families were already in crisis mode and struggling to make ends meet from the devastation of this diagnosis. Please consider helping us stand behind them with a pledge of support in any amount to our "Helping Hands" program. Cancer doesn't stop for coronavirus, and we know they will need us now more than ever. You can help us be ready for the many requests that will be coming from hospital social workers on behalf of the highest need families. Thank you.
